Hello hello everyone! Once again I’m a bit slow on my posting, but I have a good reason! The day after I got home (barely missing the snow storm. Gah! Someone should tell the weather that it’s May) my baby brother graduated with an associates degree, and the next day he graduated from highschool! (Yes, I’m bragging a bit…but, hey! It’s a big sister’s job, right? 😉 ) By the way: yes, he looks older than me, but I’m the eldest, I swear! I’ve lost count of the people who’ve thought I was the younger of the two. *sigh* I’m gonna be twenty-five and peopleRead More →

Hello hello! So finals are coming up… but I only have two more papers this semester and then no more academic writing for the summer! I’m so excited to be free to write my books, and I can’t wait to see how much progress I make. I’m seriously pumped for summer. And I need it too… boy do I ever need it. Anyway, I bet you’re wondering about the title of this post. Well, for those of you who’ve read Frosted Fire, you know Henry is a gardener, which means he can control plants. We get a glimpse of what he can do in FrostedRead More →

Hello hello! I hope you all are having a wonderful spring! It snowed again, but rather than make you read another rant against winter, I decided to share a painting I finished a couple weeks ago that pretty much sums up my attitude about the situation (it’s the background of this post image). On the bright side, the flowers are out, the grass is green, and the birds are still singing! Writing is going well. Since Spring Break I’ve stumbled into a routine that allows me to write more often and still finish my homework (Or maybe my desperation and excitement to write is givingRead More →

Hey everybody! Sorry for the radio silence recently…school and papers kicked my rear end, and then Spring Break was a blessed relief that also included tons of amazing days out doing stuff with my family (and my awesome roommate, who came with me). There’s not a lot of Wi-Fi up in the mountains, so I’m gonna use that as my excuse. 😉 There’s one other project that kept me busy, but this one I think you’ll approve of…I finished writing Midnight’s Wings, the third book in my Secrets of the National Parks Collection!!!! For those of you who’ve followed my writing for a while knowRead More →

Hello hello! Welp. This winter is officially the most snow-packed that I can remember. Every weekend it snows again! Every. Single. Weekend. It’s so beautiful, but can’t a winter-weary girl get some kind of relief? I want flowers! And temperatures above zero! Anyway, enough about my weather woes. I have another story for you! Another faery story (set in glorious summer!). This story I actually wrote for my Creative Writing class last summer, but I rewrote it so it’s more developed and connects with the other stories in the series. (If you haven’t read Lost and Found yet, the link to that post is here.)Read More →

Hello hello! So, I have a project I’ve been working on for a while, kinda just for fun, and now I’m ready to share it with you! I’ve been writing a series of stories about the interactions of faeries with humans (not winged faeries, more like the crazy powerful and strange fae of lore that have their own realm parallel to our own). These kind of fae are a special fascination of mine, and occasionally I’ll think of a story about them that I can’t help but write down, even when I’m neck deep in another project. I’m going to release at least a coupleRead More →

Hello! I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine’s Day! I spent the evening curled up on the couch with a wonderful new book (and I may or may not have stayed up way too late to finish it…) I have some fun news for you all! On February 20th, all of my kindle books will be discounted to $.99! This is in honor of my amazing Mom! It’s her birthday, and since this year writing another book for her doesn’t quite work into my schedule (and writing Stone Heart without her help and knowledge was so hard that I vowed never to do itRead More →

Hello hello! Just a quick update so you know what’s going on in my super extravagant life (haha, as if). I’m making a lot of progress on Midnight’s Wings (praise the Lord) especially on the weekends. In fact, last Friday alone I began and finished a new chapter (a very fun chapter that I can’t wait to share with you guys!). And the week before that I hit a new record for words written in a day…now it’s 8,000 words! Not all of that was on Midnight’s Wings…about two thirds was on a short story idea that refused to let me think about anything elseRead More →

I’m in a very good mood today. My roommate and I were getting stir crazy on campus and decided to go on an adventure that would also allow us to get homework done. As a result, I’m writing this post from the Denver Cat Company, an awesome coffee shop where cats reign! (As if they don’t rule the rest of the world too… 😉 ) This is the first day in over a month that I’ve pet a cat, and I am so happy that this place exists! Fifteen cats, coffee, and writing…hard to think of a better day. Of course, I’ve accomplished very littleRead More →

Hello hello! I was thinking of what to write this week, and I realized I haven’t talked about what’s going on with current projects for a while. So…here we go! Update on the wondrous, fabulous, adventurous life of….are you laughing yet? No? Okay. *clears throat* I’m back in Colorado about to begin my…fourth week of Sophomore year. Goodness, I hadn’t realized I’ve been back that long. Anyway, I’m getting in the hang of my new classes and my homework load. I’m taking some really awesome classes this year that I can’t wait to apply to my writing. Ancient Mediterranean World, for one. Man the GreeksRead More →
